Brule County is located in central South Dakota. It is named for the Brule subtribe of the Lakota People.
Located on the Missouri River, the seat and largest city are both Chamberlain.
It borders Buffalo, Jerauld, Aurora, Charles Mix and Lyman Counties.
Main highways through the county include I-90, SD-45 and SD-50.
